The last year for the recycling industry has been ... memorable. Down commodities markets, low oil prices, lingering (or renewed) impacts from China's Green Fence, heated debate over contamination and processing proposals, and other issues have left heads spinning and futures uncertain. On top of all that, the industry has of late dealt with a number of mainstream media stories calling into question the economics and societal value of materials diversion and recovery. For many, the New Year (and new market realities) can't come quickly enough.
