The invention relates to a wellhead assembly. For example a wellhead assembly that is designed to be able to accommodate thermal growth. A conventional type of wellhead assembly comprises a series of stacked casing hangers inside a high pressure wellhead housing. Each casing hanger supports a sequentially smaller nominal diameter casing section/pipe which enables the well to reach deeper and deeper for each casing section whilst providing structural support of the wellbore.
