Environmentally-friendly disinfectant and degreaser for food-contact areas

Chemex International Ltd have developed a formulation for cleaning and disinfection of food contact areas. The formulation addresses several concerns associated with food processing, catering and restaurant industries: The proposed formulation is "quat-free": The use of disinfection/cleaning products containing quaternary ammonium compounds (quats) within food production areas are currently controlled by pesticides regulation both in Europe and the UK. The level of quats Compliance is currently monitored by Environmental Health Officers/Environmental Health Executive to ensure that the level of quats does not exceed the maximum residue levels (MRLs) stipulated in the legislation. Use of an alternative biocide that falls outside of the scope of the legislation avoids these issues.
