Active Noise Canceling (ANC) Headrest

The present invention creates the opportunity to reduce the noise level heard in the cabin of a vehicle. This technology uses live noise cancellation and speakers to help reduce the ambient environmental sounds. The headrest contains microphones at both sides of the headrest as shown in Figure 1. The microphones records sounds heard in the cabin. The benefit of this location for the microphones, enables the sound data collection to be most replicable to what a person would hear, properly sitting in the seat. One of the key features of the microphone placement, is the increase range of cancelable noise in the higher frequencies.
