Screed Synchronized Spray Bar Mechanism

Paving machines are known to employ a spray system which includes emulsion pumps, spray bars and spray nozzles to spray emulsion or other asphalt bonding agents onto a grade. The bonding agent is typically sprayed across paving width, just before the asphalt is laid. Referring to Figure 1, the spray system generally contains multiple spray bars covering an entire paving width. Each spray bar contains multiple spray nozzles evenly distributed across its length. To accomplish proper spray coverage, some of the spray bars may be fixed in position while others may be adjustable to suit paving width requirement. For example, a center spray bar is fixed to cover an area between a LH and a RH track of the paving machine. Further two independent rear spray bars may be provided to spray directly behind the LH and RH tracks of the machine.
