Development of main amplifier of the 'Super-ASHURA' KrF laser

摘要

Main amplifier the "Super-ASHURA" KrF laser system, which has 61cm aperture, 2.1m active length and 270ns pumping duration, has been developed. So far, at 84/100 full voltage operation, 32kJ electron beam has been deposited into laser gas with an efficiency (deposited energy/initial stored energy) of 25/100. In 12 beam double-pass amplification experiments, in which geometrical filling factor is limited to 70/100, total output energy of 2.3kJ (which corresponds to 3.2kJ with full aperture) has been obtained with a local intrinsic energy of 10/100.
