EUROPEAN COMPETITION SUPPORT FOR RENEWABLES

New legislation opening up the European energy sector to further competition has been approved by the European Parliament.With the objective of putting in place the regulatory framework needed to make market opening fully effective and to create a single EU electricity market, the package also aims to stimulate energy efficiency and guarantees that small companies, in particular those investing in renewable energy, have access to the energy market. Ensuring fair competition between EU companies and third country companies is another key objective of this new legislation.
