A drive for renewables and energy efficiency can ensure that the EU does not fall behind China and the US in green technological innovation. So argues the third edition 'Energy [Revolution: A Sustainable World Energy Outlook', commissioned by Greenpeace and the European Renewable Energy Council (EREC). The study, carried out by the Institute of Technical Thermodynamics of the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), argues that the renewable power industry could support 8.5 million jobs by 2030 - if governments seize the opportunity to invest in a greener future.
