RIVER RESTORATION: ADVANCES IN RESEARCH AND APPLICATIONS. SELECTED PAPERS FROM THE FOURTH EUROPEAN CENTRE FOR RIVER RESTORATION CONFERENCE, VENICE, JUNE 2008

摘要

The papers included in this special issue derive from the Fourth European Centre for River Restoration (ECRR) Conference, held on S.Servolo Island (Venice, Italy) during June 2008. The ECRR Conference is held every 4 years, with the aim of presenting and sharing experiences and new findings concerning river restoration, including presentation of both restoration projects and results of fundamental scientific research relevant to this topic. Publications from this Fourth ECRR Conference include this special issue and also a proceedings book (Gumiero et al., 2008). This special issue includes a selection of papers presented at three of the conference's scientific sessions: (a) Biodiversity and restoration of hydromorphological processes; (b) Restoration and management of physical processes and sediments; (c) Linking hydrology, geomorphology and ecology.
