Territory, Democracy and Justice. Regionalism and Federalism in Western Democracies

The complexities and intricacies arising from the emergence of territorial political economy are a question for careful examination by the public policy community. The wave of welfare state decentralization and state rescaling calls for a better understanding of how best to design a policy, how stable is such a definition, and how does the political system endorse democracy to sustain it. Democracy has a territorial component and opens up territorial claims and grievances, and in doing so questions regarding the uniformity of citizenship arise.
