For most travellers, flight planning will not be their most pressing thought on the day of their flight. But if it was it probably wouldn't extend beyond having enough fuel onboard, the right bags loaded and a choice of meal. For pilots and despatchers it is a highly complex and absolutely vital part of every flight that directly impacts safety, profitability and passenger comfort. With terabytes of data streaming off aircraft these days, flight planning systems seem to be in a constant state of evolution. So, LARA selected three systems from very different organisations - Qantas, NAVBLUE and AIR SUPPORT - to showcase the best of what is happening with flight planning operations.
