O'Leary has been chief executive for 70% of that time, and no matter which way you look at it, the reality is that his contribution has been considerable. Proof that the Ryanair model still keeps on delivering came in November with the airline posting half-year profits (pre-exceptions) for its 2015-16 financial year of €1.088 billion, up 37% over the €795 million recorded in the respective period a year ago.
