Is it rational to believe in God? How can statements about God possibly be verified? These are two typical and central philosophical questions worth asking about religion, and both typify the kinds of issues that pop up in the field of the philosophy of religion. A standard "rational" stance towards religion might seem to be that, since evidence is hard to verify and since truth claims about reality are subjective whenever based upon mere beliefs, making room for faith in your life is to deny knowledge (or at least to have to limit knowledge in some way so as to allow for room for belief - which goes beyond knowledge).
