Anglo-Zulu War, 1879: A Selected Bibliography

The century between the battles of Waterloo and Ypres is remembered in the UK as a period of peace. Closer inspection reveals a more or less continuous series of bloody wars however: in India, China, Afghanistan (again and again - will we never learn?), Iran [ditto], New Zealand, Russia, and various parts of Africa, not to mention minor military interventions anywhere from Cork to Ballarat. The war discussed here was described as typical by Sellar and Yeatman in 1066 And All That - one of the very few literary references that our indefatigable author seems to have omitted from his copious bibliography - "Zulu War.
