Tulyar's Year May 1980 to May 1981

55015 started the new May 1980 timetable undergoing a B-exam at Finsbury Park, which also included a repaint in order to prepare it for attending the Rocket 150 event commemorating the Rainhill Trials and took place at Bold Colliery. 55015 was released from its B-exam on May 20, but instead of directly heading off to the Rainhill celebration it went back to work on the 1D00 0805 King's Cross to Hull and the 1A18 1234 return. Tulyar then worked the 1L45 1805 to York and the following morning took some vintage carriages from York to Bold Colliery, It returned to York in the evening of May 27 and was put back to work the next day. It was May 29 when 1 caught up with it and enjoyed a good run behind the immaculate racehorse on the 1A26 1550 York to King's Cross. I encountered 55015 another couple of times before the month was out as the loco settled down to normal Deltic duties.
