THE DE-BRANDING of the Pendolino fleet was completed just ahead of the demise of the Virgin West Coast franchise, with 221101 also losing its 'Flowing Silk' vinyls during November 2019. At Widnes, 390155 and 390156 were both outshopped in the plain pale grey in November and early December respectively, leaving the last set in original colours, 390157, stopped for repainting as the franchise changed hands. Not that 390155/156 remained unbranded for long, as both receivingthe new Avanti West Coast livery for the weekend launch on December 8.
