TWO TRACK workers were hit by a passenger train and killed at Margam, near Port Talbot in South Wales, on July 3. The incident happened at 0952 when the men, identified as a 58-year-old Michael Lewis from North Cornelly and a 64-year-old Gareth Delbridge from Kenfig Hill, apparently didn't hear the approaching 0929 Swansea to Paddington GWR service, formed of Class 800/0s 800021 and 800025. They were pronounced dead at the scene. A third track worker narrowly avoided being hit.
