Swanage loco overhauls update

The locomotive maintenance and overhaul team at the Swanage Railway has been kept busy with winter maintenance for the past few months. On the 'running repairs' front, Drummond W 30053 has passed through the workshops to have its reverser and steam heating duplex valve replaced, and Bulleid 'Spamcan' 34070 Manston has had its annual boiler exam undertaken. Rebuilt 'West Country' 34028 Eddystone has had its valve rings renewed, as well as having its dome lid machined to cure a persistent problem with steam leakage and renewal of one of the tender vacuum brake cylinders.
