Class 108 moves to Cranmore for repairs

The two-car Class 108 DMU which has operated at the S&D Heritage Trust's Midsomer Norton site since it opened has been taken to the East Somerset Railway at Cranmore for repairs. Driving Motor Brake 51909 and Driving Trailer 56271 have been affected by severe corrosion at the inner ends of both cars, which has rendered the connecting doors and gangway unusable and as there are limited facilities at Midsomer Norton the decision has been taken to send the unit away for welding work to be carried out.
