GWR trio at Llangollen

Appropriately for the former WR route, the Llangollen Railway is offeri ng a trio of three Great Western Railway locomotives as the highlights for its April 8-10 Spring Steam Gala. Visitingfrom the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway will be 4-6-0 7820 Dinmore Manor. Subject to completion of its major overhaul, it is hoped that resident 4-6-0 7822 Foxcote Manor will also be in use during the gala. Normally resident on the Severn Valley Railway, GWR Small Prairie 4566 is the second guest. It last visited Llangollen 25 years ago, when it spent the 1991 season on services between Llangollen and Glyndyfrdwy. An intensive timetable of passenger and freight trains is also promised.
