NIGERIA APPROVES $5.3BN IBADAN -KANO STANDARD GAUGE RAIL PROJECT

As part of the resolve to connect the whole country by rail, the Federal Government has approved the sum of $5.3 billion for the Ibadan - Kano standard gauge rail project. the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, disclosed this at the recent 3rd Maritime Stakeholders Interactive Forum held in Lagos. In addition, arrangements are currently taking place to secure funding to commence the coastal rail for the Port-Harcourt -Warri segment.
