Welcome to our annual railroad contractor issue in which we shine the spotlight on the activities of railroad contractors, a small but highly dynamic part of our railroad industry. Railroad contractors have discovered some very important niches in our industry's m/w programs and filled those niches to everyone's benefit.rnThe National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association is very strong because it delivers what its members really need. In order to come on railroad property to do any job, contractors have to show that they are well-trained and that they are capable of working safely. Without that, they simply won't get any jobs on Class Is, transits, smaller railroads or industrial sites.
