A challenging journey completed

Officially branded as the Taoyuan Metro, the long-awaited rail link between Taipei and Taoyuan International Airport was formally opened on March 2, more than a decade after the start of construction, and despite a very challenging design and construction period. Ridership has been growing steadily, and the automated line has already become an important component in Taiwan's expanding rail network.
