When Mike Shylanski, of the B&O Railroad Historical Society, asked me to consider drawing this car, I took one look and was hooked! He offered to supply several necessary blueprints, and the N&W Historical Society had several additional critical blueprints available online, so I jumped in. I casually mentioned to editor Stephen Priest that these would make perfect candidate cars for scratch-building. What could be better?
