The former stationmaster's house at Bury St Edmunds station has been restored, in a £592,000 scheme funded by Greater Anglia and the Railway Heritage Trust.Since 2019, contractors have reinstated the roof, doors and windows and repaired fractured brickwork on the Grade 2-listed building, which is next to the main station.GA provided £400,000, with the RHT spending £192,000.Built in 1847, the building was operated as the station hotel, and then as a bar, restaurant and nightclub before closing and being neglected from 1995.
