THE Conwy Valley Line reopened to passenger traffic on July 24, following extensive repairs to damage caused by bad weather in March. High tides and Storm Gareth caused major damage to the 30-mile railway, which runs from Llandudno to Blaenau Ffestiniog. In just 12 hours on March 16, some 104.6mm of rain was measured at Capel Curig - the highest on record.
