Conwy Valley line reopens just before lockdown

THE CONWY Valley line (Llandudno Junction to Blaenau Ffestiniog) reopened after a prolonged closure on 28 September, three days before a local lockdown was introduced to combat the spread of Covid-19. The line was one of many in Wales and the Borders damaged by a succession of storms and floods in February. Network Rail estimated the Conwy Valley repairs would take eight weeks, but reopening was postponed to June because of the impact of Covid-19 on the works.
