Stevenson resigns Scottish transport minister

Stewart Stevenson, 65, resigned at the end of 2010, following criticism about his handling of poor travel conditions caused by the December snow and ice. Several motorways had to close during the worst of the weather. In his resignation letter, the SNP MSP said he could have done much more to ensure that members of the public were better informed of the situation'. He is succeeded by Keith Brown, MP for Ochil.
