Chinese railways: positive and negative developments of the last 50 years

The many and major successes of the Chinese railways since 1949 have formed a solid basis for development, set an excellent example and smoothed the progress of largescale construction. Unfortunately, in the last 40 years, many unrealistic decisions were made. There was a signal lack of cooperation, much waste and excessive interference with nature.
