Chairwoman, Ladies and Gentlemen, Two speaker-slots have been allocated to the UIRR for this major railway event here in Ljubljana. By way of introduction, I would like to say that Mr. Svetek and myself are very flattered and I suspect Mr. Martens, Secretary General of the IRCA, to be at the source of this favourable treatment; if this is so, we thank him warmly. For us, this twofold invitation is a sign that the relations between RUs and CT operators are what all of us at the UIRR want them to be: frank, direct, open to possible differences of opinion, but above all, driven by the will to dialogue with each other in order to understand our respective concerns and expectations better through continuous exchanges of views and thereby also to consolidate cooperation.
