Manchester consults on transport strategy

Public consultation is now underway on two public transport strategies for the Greater Manchester region, writes Tony Miles. The City Centre Strategic Plan and the Regional Centre Transport Strategy were published in draft form on December 3. Proposals include the existing Metrolink extension programme, increasing capacity with more rolling stock and a more intensive service. Options for a 'second city crossing' are proposed to deliver an increased number of tram services.
