For the first time since data has been collected for ATOC's National Fleet Reliability Improvement Programme, a fleet ordered following privatisation has achieved top place in the train reliability league. Under NFRIP, performance is measured in terms of Miles Per 5 Min Delay.rnWithin the new-generation EMU category, the top 10 fleets were all above 30 000 MP5MD. In first place was the small fleet of Class 360/2 Siemens Desiro EMUs operated on the Heathrow Connect stopping service (below).rnThe Heathrow Connect fleet comprises only five units, owned by Heathrow Express and maintained by Siemens at Old Oak Common, but one failure can make a significant difference to the NFRIP figures. Until the final two months before the cut-off date for the latest figures, c2c was leading the new-generationrncategory with its fleet of Class 357 Bombardier Electrostars, also maintained by the manufacturer. Third place was taken by the Class 460 Alstom Juniper trains operated on the Gatwick Express service.
