Southern readies for Gatwick Express changes

Driver training has started for around 130 Southern and Gatwick Express drivers on the Class 442 EMUs which are due to operate extended Gatwick Express services between Victoria and Brighton from December, reports Tony Miles. Southern has taken the opportunity to revise its training delivery, using the train as a mobile 'classroom' and giving the drivers a DVD to study at home. Six Gatwick Express services are due to be extended to run from Brighton in the morning peak hours, with a similar number returning in the evening.
