BR DMU reliability improves

According to industry statistics, only two out of the 24 fleets of ex-British Rail DMUs failed to improve their year-on-year reliability in 2009. A total of 19 fleets achieved over 6 000 Miles Per 5 Min Delay in 2009, compared to 11 the year before.rnSouth West Trains continued to demonstrate that the key factor in train reliability is the quality of depot management. Not only did its Class 159 fleets take first and second places with MAA MP5MD scores of 30 132 and 24 182 respectively, but the similar Class 158 fleet showed the greatest improvement in the category to come third with an MP5MD of 18 369 compared with 10 939 last year.
