Passenger-km still declining

National Rail Trends data on passenger-km and fares revenue for Quarter 2 (July to September) of 2009-10 was published by ORR on November 5. They showed that travel on the national network is still declining, though not dramatically.rnThis is best illustrated by a new series showing the moving annual average pass-km carried in the last four quarters; in simple terms, the Q2 figure of 12.5 billion quoted in the latest NRT is the volume of traffic carried between October 1 2008 and September 30 2009 divided by four.
