When High Speed 2 Ltd reports to government by the end of the year, it will present the optimum engineered route for Britain's second high-speed line linking London with the West Midlands. According to HS2 Ltd Chief Engineer Professor Andrew McNaughton, the alignment will be defined with a lateral accuracy of ±25 m and a vertical alignment within ±500 mm.rnForecast demand for the new route will be available in similar detail, with an estimate of the value of the capacity released on the conventional network.
