NR to fund EGIP through RAB

Network Rail has confirmed that it is prepared to fund the Scottish Government's Edinburgh - Glasgow Improvement Programme through its Regulatory Asset Base. Proposedrnby Transport Scotland's Strategic Transport Projects Review published in December 2008, EGIP includes electrification at 25 kV 50 Hz of the Edinburgh - Glasgow route viarnFalkirk High to deliver a headline journey time of 35 min and double the service frequency to 13 trains/h. Routes through Stirling to Alloa and Dunblane would also be wired.
