Aluminium traffic lost

DB Schenker's weekly freight service between Holyhead and Warrington along the North Wales coast is expected to cease in September following the closure of the Anglesey Aluminium plant, writes Tony Miles. The plant closure is linked to the planned shut-down of the Wylfa nuclear power station in 2010, which will leave the National Grid unable to supply sufficient power for aluminium smelting.
