NR considering automated track inspection

Network Rail has issued an OJEU Request For Information on the potential use of pattern-recognition software in plain line track inspection. The RFI is intended to support NR's current study of the scope for employing this technology and help identify potential suppliers.rnVideo recordings of track are currently made using the Omnicom system fitted to NR's New Measurement Train, although their use for routine condition monitoring has been limited.
