Pleasing performance at FirstGroup

Passenger revenue at the UK Rail business of FirstGroup plc grew by 4.4% on a like-for-like basis in the six months to September 30 2010, according to a pre-close trading statement issued last month. The company said that it was 'pleased' with the performance of UK Rail, 'which has seen a continued strengthening in pas-rnsenger volumes across all of our rail franchises'.
