Traffic to double by 2035

Twice as many passengers and a doubling of freight tonne-km by 2035 are predicted in Planning Ahead, published by Network Rail on August 13. This long-term planning framework was prepared by an industry steering group led by NR, ATOC and the Rail Freight Operators' Association, and is intended to set the agenda for Control Period 5 commencing on April 1 2014.
