Eurotunnel's programme to modify 25 kV OHLE at its two terminals in order to reduce the risk of flashovers during loading is being undertaken on the assumption that all freight shuttles are to be lengthened by two wagons. The rakes of 32 semi-enclosed Breda wagons are to be lengthened using vehicles left undamaged by the shuttle fire in November 1996, while the lighter Arbel-Fauvet-Rail Takes are to be lengthened to 34 wagons using spare vehicles.
