LU strikes called off?

London Underground announced on May 10 that RMT had agreed to call off industrial action scheduled for later this month, following LU's decision to reinstate a driver whose dismissal had been ruled as 'unfair' by an employment tribunal. RMT denied that the strikes had been called off, however. LU Managing Director Mike Brown said that 'following a meeting with the RMT leadership this morning', the union had 'withdrawn their threat of industrial action, and we have avoided significant disruption for London'.
