RBI has learned that the promoters of Strategic Rail Freight Interchanges at Radlett and Colnbrook have written separately to Secretary of State for Communities ft Local Government Eric Pickles, stating that they will refuse to participate in a joint public inquiry to consider both schemes. On September 19 Pickles had informed interested parties that a third public inquiry would be held into the Radlett SFRI being promoted by HelioSlough Ltd. This would also consider the SRFI proposed at Colnbrook, given that the two schemes 'raise similar and inter-related issues' (RBI423 p3).
