With funding in place and the outline design completed, work is due to start this month on the detailed design of a major upgrade at Llandudno station. Expected to cost £5-1m, the project is due to be completed early in 2014. For a terminus serving a major holiday resort, the poor state of the station has attracted much criticism for decades. The upgrade will include a new frontage and ticket office, improved bus facilities, parking for 50 cars, additional cycle storage and improved passenger information systems.
