SWT overhaul in-house

Award of the Class 455 overhaul contract (above) has enabled the SWT/ Network Rail alliance to invest £3-2m in a new 'state of the art' paint shop for Bournemouth depot, according to Alliance Fleet Director Christian Roth. Now under construction by BAM Nuttall, the paint shop is due for completion in April 2013 and will enable SWT to overhaul its non-Desiro fleets in-house.
