London Bridge timetabling challenge

From January 2015 no trains will be able to serve London Bridge from the Thameslink central core for a period of three years. All services between Blackfriars and East Croydon and the Brighton Main Line will be diverted to run via Elephant ft Castle, adding 8 to 9 min to journey times. This presents a major timetabling and operational challenge for the incoming Thameslink franchisee (above). The current Brighton Main Line timetable today has a pattern recurring every 15 min through the key pinchpoints at London Bridge, East Croydon and Gatwick Airport.
