More funding for station projects

A total of 10 gating and car park projects are to receive £15m in the latest round of bidding for funding from the Station Commercial Project Facility developed by DfT in partnership with Network Rail, ATOC and ORR. Funding has been ring-fenced for a further four schemes 'pending clarification on certain aspects of the projects'. 'This third and final wave of successful bids means we have now allocated almost £100m towards projects which will improve passengers' experience of travelling by rail and help us deliver a better value for money railway', said NR Managing Director, Network Operations, Robin Gisby. Four TOCs have been awarded funding in the latest round to install ticket gates at stations.
