Rochdale Interchange approved

Transport Minister Norman Baker announced on February 24 that DfT will contribute £7m towards the £11.5m cost of Rochdale's new transport interchange, giving full approval for the scheme to begin. To be served by the Manchester Metrolink extension currently under construction, the interchange will replace the current bus station which is to be redeveloped as part of a £250m programme for Rochdale town centre.
