Following the successful purchase of €110m of variable interest bonds issued by Channel Link Enterprises Finance last September, Groupe Eurotunnel announced on January 5 that it had continued this process in December by spending €30m to purchase €34m of the bonds issued by CLEF at a 10% discount. These bonds have the same characteristics as the group's Tranche C debt, and the latest transaction brings the debt reduction total for 2011 to €144m, which represents a full-year reduction in charges of €3-8m during 2012.
